Giants’ Abdul Carter Sets the Record Straight with Jaxson Dart After Trump Rally Appearance

Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants quarterback, faced some unexpected drama after participating in a campaign rally for Republican Rep. Mike Lawler. While introducing former President Donald Trump on stage, Dart drew attention from his own teammate, Abdul Carter, leading to some surprising social media interactions.

Carter, who was also selected by the Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft, called out Dart’s comments in a candid post. “Thought this (expletive) was AI,” Carter tweeted, highlighting his surprise at Dart’s speech. “What we doing, man?”

Despite the viral nature of his post, Carter quickly followed up to clarify that there were no hard feelings between him and Dart. “Me & JD6 are good!” he stated on Saturday. “We spoke earlier as Men. Y’all can keep y’all narratives.” This attempt to quell speculation about locker room tensions was further supported by offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, who asserted that the team’s atmosphere remains positive.

Dart, not alone in his political leanings, is among other Giants players who have shown public support for Trump. Notably, Carter’s coach John Harbaugh and his brother Jim Harbaugh, who coaches the Chargers, visited Trump at the White House back in 2025.

Selected third overall, Carter had a notable rookie season, recording 4.0 sacks, 43 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He made six starts during the Giants’ 2025 campaign while participating in all 17 regular-season games.

Dart’s own trajectory has seen ups and downs. He moved into the starting role after the Giants started 0-3 last year, finishing with a 4-8 record. Dart threw 15 touchdowns while averaging a completion rate of 63.7% but faced criticism for taking unnecessary hits.

Reflecting on these challenges, Dart mentioned a recent meeting with new quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan where they reviewed past scrambles. “I obviously understand one of the most important things is to be out there,” he shared. “So you just grow and learn from things, and yeah, we’ll do a good job this year, for sure.”
